El MSG es básicamente un aminoácido que se usa como potenciador del sabor de los alimentos. Se usa para ensalzar el sabor de sopas de sobre y precocinadas, pastillas de caldo, aliños para ensalada, aceitunas, embutidos, comida china y oriental, patatas chips, carnes frías, condimentos, galletas y productos de alimentación congelados. 🥶
Es un neurotóxico que varios estudios relacionan con la muerte de las neuronas. Sobreexcita células, dañándolas o incluso haciéndolas morir. Es especialmente desaconsejable en personas con enfermedades neurológicas (Parkinson, Alzheimer, epilepsia, trastorno bipolar, esquizofrenia). 😫
En personas sensibles puede provocar dolores de cabeza, nauseas e incluso vómitos. Se relaciona con un mayor riesgo de obesidad porque es un aditivo que nos produce más sensación de hambre. 😨
Otros efectos negativos del GSM que se han estudiado incluyen: mayor posibilidad de ataques de asma y alergias, daño ocular, pensamientos suicidas, depresión y fatiga. 🥴
El MSG puede estar enmascarado bajo diversos nombres, ja que muchos productores no quieres revelarlo y utilizan tecnicismos para no mostrarlo de forma sencilla en la parte de ingredientes del producto. 👀
